Australia MI Inflation Gauge MoM

The Melbourne Institute’s headline monthly inflation gauge fell 0.3% in August 2025, reversing a 0.9% rise in July and reinforcing the Reserve Bank of Australia’s dovish stance. On an annual basis, inflation expectations eased to 2.8% from 2.9%. The trimmed mean inflation gauge also slipped 0.2% month-over-month, while its annual growth rate slowed to 2.4% from 2.6%, placing it slightly below the midpoint of the RBA’s 2–3% target range.
