Finland’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.1% in September 2025 from 8.1% in the same month of the previous year. The number of unemployed persons increased by 32 thousand from a year earlier to 259 thousand, while the number of employed persons rose by 16 thousand to 2.589 million. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for people aged 15 to 24 increased to 16.6%, which was 0.5 percentage points higher than a year ago. The activity rate for persons aged 15 to 74 went up to 68.3% from 67.4% a year ago, while the employment rate for persons aged 20 to 64 decreased to 75.9% from 76.4%.
