Finland’s unemployment rate climbed to 10% in April 2025 from 9.2% in the same month of the previous year. The number of unemployed persons jumped by 25 thousand from a year earlier to 288 thousand, while the number of employed persons increased by 2 thousand to 2.590 million. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for people aged 15-24 rose to 27.2%, which was 2.5 percentage points higher than a year ago. The activity rate for persons aged 15 to 74 went up to 69.1% from 68.7% a year ago, while the employment rate for persons aged 20 to 64 edged lower to 76.2% from 76.3%.
