Slovenia’s annual inflation rate rose to 2.3% in April 2025 from 2% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since May 2024, as prices accelerated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.9% vs 3.5% in March), clothing and footwear (4.2% vs 2.5%), recreation and culture (3% vs 2.3%), and education (3.5% vs 2.9%). Meanwhile, costs declined for housing and utilities (-1.8% vs -1.2%), furnishings, household equipment and maintenance (-0.5% vs 0.1%), and transport (-0.1% vs 1%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew by 1.3%, the highest since June 2023, following a 0.6% gain in March. Meanwhile, the EU-harmonized CPI edged up to 2.3% in April from 2.2% in the preceding period.
