China's food prices fell 1.4% year-over-year in March 2025, notably easing from a 3.3% drop in the previous month and marking the second straight month of decline. The cost of fresh vegetables decreased at a much slower pace (-6.8% vs -12.6%), while prices for eggs (-1.6% vs -2.7%), cooking oils (-2.1% vs -2.0%), and milk (-1.7% vs -1.4%) registered more moderate falls. In contrast, pork prices rose more sharply (6.7% vs 4.1%), and fresh fruit prices rebounded (0.9% vs -1.8%).
