The trade deficit in Greece narrowed to EUR 2.4 billion in February 2025 from EUR 2.9 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports slightly increased by 0.1% from a year earlier to EUR 4 billion, as shipments advanced by 5.2% to EU countries, while it dropped by 6% to third countries. Meanwhile, imports declined by 7.7% to EUR 6.5 billion, dragged down by lower purchases from third (-14.3%) and EU countries (-1.4%). Considering the first two months of the year, the country’s trade deficit decreased to EUR 5.3 billion from EUR 5.6 billion in the same period last year, as exports rose by 1.6% while imports fell by 1.3%.
