Ecuador Tasa De Inflación

The annual inflation rate in Ecuador rose to 0.31% in March 2025, rebounding from the softest increase since June 2021 of 0.25% in the previous month. This uptick was primarily driven by higher costs for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.21% vs. -0.11% in February), while the decline in prices eased for clothing and footwear (-1.04% vs. -1.11%) and housing and utilities (-14.94% vs. -15.16%) as the country recovered from hydroelectric power shortages that led to government subsidies. Meanwhile, prices slowed for transportation (2.41% vs. 3.01%), communications (1.24% vs. 1.83%), restaurants and hotels (2.65% vs. 2.88%), and recreation and culture (0.67% vs. 1.39%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.35%, following a 0.09% increase in February.
