Sweden’s annual inflation rate inched up to 0.8% in July 2025, in line with preliminary estimates, from 0.7% in June. This was the highest level since February, though it remained well below the Riksbank’s 2% target. Prices increased for recreation and culture (5.1% vs 4.0% in June), education (4.3% vs 4.1%), and health (2.8% vs 2.0%), while costs rebounded for communication (0.6% vs -1.3%). Conversely, inflation eased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.1% vs 5.3%), clothing and footwear (2.4% vs 2.9%), restaurants and hotels (3.1% vs 4.6%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.7% vs 4.4%). Price declines were also observed in housing and utilities (-3.4% vs -4.2%) and transport (-2.7% vs -2.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices advanced 0.2%, slowing from a 0.5% rise in June. Meanwhile, the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF), the Riksbank’s target measure, grew 3.0% year-on-year in July, the fastest increase since January 2024, following a 2.8% rise in June.
