Reino Unido Monthly GDP MoM

The British economy contracted 0.1% month-over-month in May 2025, following a 0.3% fall in April and compared to forecasts of a 0.1% expansion. The back-to-back drops put the economy at risk of an overall contraction in Q2. Production output shrank 0.9%, extending a 0.6% decline in April, led by a 1% plunge in manufacturing, mostly basic pharmaceutical products and preparations (-4.2%) and manufacture of transport equipment (-1.3%). Mining and quarrying also fell (-3.2%), while water supply, sewerage, waste management and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply grew by 0.8% and 0.3%, respectively. Meanwhile, construction output fell by 0.6%, following growth of 0.8%. Services expanded 0.1%, rebounding from a fall of 0.3% in April, with the information and communication subsector jumping 2% and making the largest positive contribution, mostly computer programming, consultancy and related activities (3%).Considering the three months to May, the GDP in the UK grew 0.5%.
