Malta Tasa De Inflación

Malta’s annual inflation rate rose to 2.6% in April 2025 from 2.1% in March, marking the highest level since March 2024. The increase was driven mainly by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.9% vs 3.2%) and transport (5.7% vs 3.2%). Inflation also picked up for housing and utilities (0.9% vs 0.7%), health (3% vs 2.7%), and restaurants and hotels (2.9% vs 2.4%). In contrast, prices fell for clothing and footwear (-0.1% vs 1.8%), communication (-3.7% vs -4.9%), and furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.2% vs 0.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices jumped 3.2% in April, up from a 1.1% rise in March—the sharpest monthly increase since April 2022.
