Reino Unido Construction Orders

UK construction orders surged 10.5% year-on-year in Q1 2025, recovering from an upwardly revised 0.2% growth in the previous quarter. This marked the strongest growth in construction orders since Q2 2024, as orders for all other work soared by 19.0% in Q1, sharply accelerating from a 4.6% rise in Q4. In contrast, new housing orders continued to decline (-12.2% vs -10.8% in Q4), with private housing orders falling at a much faster pace (-17.2% vs -4.2%), while public housing rebounded strongly (34.6% vs -43.3%). On a quarterly basis, construction orders jumped 26.6%, the fastest pace since the third quarter of 2020, rebounding sharply from an upwardly revised 3.7% drop in Q4.
