Canadá Manufacturing Sales

Canada’s manufacturing sales rose by 0.3% to CAD 68.5 billion in June 2025, following a revised 1.5% decrease in May and compared with an earlier estimate of a 0.4% increase. It follows four consecutive months of declines. Sales rose in 13 of 21 subsectors, led by the petroleum and coal (+11.8%) and food (+2.5%) product subsectors. These increases were partly offset by a 5% slump in the transportation equipment subsector. Year-on-year, manufacturing sales shrank by 2.7%. In Q2, total sales fell 4.8% to $206.0 billion—the steepest quarterly drop since early 2020—driven primarily by sharp declines in petroleum and coal products (-18.0%), primary metals (-10.6%), and transportation equipment (-6.5%).
